Ioannis Spilanis is a Professor at the Department of Environment, University of the Aegean (Greece) and active member of the Laboratory of Local and Island Development. His research interests, among others, include regional and local development, development of island ecosystems, tourism development, planning and sustainable development. His research projects have been published in various distinguished international journals. He has been working as a scientific consultant for the private and public sector for more than twenty years.
